| Born Detroit, Michigan, I lived within
bicycle distance of Lake Saint Clair (this lake is now on the BASS Masters
Tour). My grade school buddy and I would fish the lake once a week after
school. I moved to Sunnyvale, Calif. In 1962 where I attended high school
and collage. At this time my Fishing was for Trout, Striped bass, Catfish,
and Crappie whenever time permitted, having 3 boys All interested in the
outdoors sure helped but a lot of time was spent on little league soccer
and baseball. I continued the involvement coaching the boys until they were
out of high school. It was while I was coaching high school ball my bass
fishing began. One of the kids fathers on my Jr. Varsity Team belonged to a
local bass club and fished tournaments. As we got to know each other
Through baseball and fishing together we made an agreement the he would
teach me how to bass Fish and that I would teach him more about baseball
(my coaching record in the two sports is very good). Holding good to his
word we fish a night tournament at Lake Don Pedro, As luck would have it we
won the tournament. That’s all it took, I was then hooked on tournament
bass fishing. I jointed the local fishing club the Santa Clara County Bass
Busters. The 1st year I fished as a non boater,
The 2nd year I bought a new Ranger boat and finish in the top 20 in
the club making it to the TOC. The 3rd. year I fished the B. A. S.
S. Federation circuit and just missed the state qualifying finals. The next two
years I fished the WON Bass and West Coast Bass circuits as an amateur
(accomplishments are on the stats page). Year 2001 is my rookie year as a Pro
Angler (see stats page for accomplishments). Fishing as a pro is very exciting,
challenging, and very rewarding I have literally met hundreds of new friends.
My goal is to become a top professional angler. |
